About BMW welt and museum

Hundreds of thousands of people visit BMW yearly to see the amazing exhibits inside the four-cylinder BMW tower and the famous bowl-shaped museum next to it. The museum showcases the journey of the technical development of cars and motorcycles of BMW from the early 19th century to the current and futuristic models. Visitors also get to know a lot about the history of the company. There are lots of activities and workshops here designed for kids and adults. Visitors can even design their own car! BMW has always been one of the top brands in the world. How to reach

Take the Subway U1/U2/U3 and get off at Olympiazentrum. The museum is a five-minute walk from the stop.

Or take tram 27 from Karlsplatz (Stachus). Get off at Gartenstraße and walk for a few minutes to reach the museum.

You can reach by taxi via Schwanthalerstraße and Landsberger. Take the exit toward Lerchenauer Street./Feldmoching/BMW Welt/Olympiapark from B2R. It is 8.5 Kms from the city center and the taxi will cost you around 16 EUR.

  • Visitors are allowed to rent the cars for a short drive.
  • Workshops are conducted every day for kids and adults.
  • Photography is allowed. 
  • The museum does not allow smoking.
  • There are many hands-on workshops for visitors and it is free of charge.
