Located in Frankfurt's historic city center is Schim Kunsthalle, an exhibition hall that displays both modern and contemporary art. Built in 1983 by the Architekturbüro BJSS, it has presented more than 200 art exhibitions till date. The exhibition hall focusses on art-historical and historico-cultural themes, discourses, and trends from a contemporary perspective. The gallery is spread across 1,400 sq mts and has earned a reputation of being one of the most outstanding art institutions in Europe.
By subway
Subway lines 4 and 5 take you directly to “Dom/Römer” station. Take the exit A "Römerberg". If travelling by streetcar, it is best to get off at “Paulskirche” stop.
By car
Approaching from the A5 interstate, take the “Westkreuz Frankfurt” exit. If approaching from the B648 highway or the A3 or A66 interstates, take the “Offenbach/Kaiserlei” exit. Keep driving towards downtown (“Stadtmitte/Zentrum”). Then follow the signs for “Parkbereich D, Dom/Römer”. A parking garage with immediate access to Frankfurt’s historical heart is located directly under the Schirn Kunsthalle.
