About Kaiserdom or Frankfurt Cathedral

The Kaiserdom or Frankfurt Cathedral is a ceremonial Gothic church and one of the best-preserved pieces of ancient Frankfurt history that attained importance and served 300 years during the Holy Roman Empire between 1562 and 1806. Though much of the area around the cathedral was destroyed during the World War II bombing, the church building was saved; the area was later reconstructed in the 1970s. Located in the center of Frankfurt Main in Germany, the cathedral with gothic-style architecture offers a panoramic view and is visible from anywhere along the Main River.
