About Alte Oper

The old opera house in Frankfurt now called as Alter Oper is a gorgeous building overlooking a beautiful square with a large fountain and ornate lamp posts. Established in the 19th century by Berlin architect Richard Lucae, it was ruined due to the bombings of the second world war and re-established four decades later as a modern concert and event hall. The unique concert hall offers visitors a high-quality entertainment ranging from classical jazz to musical theatre and show productions. The outstanding and highly reputed hall with a capacity of 2,500 spectators and holds ballets, concerts and glamorous balls.
