The Frankfurt Zoological Garden established in 1858 is one of the best attractions of Frankfurt and the oldest zoological garden in the world. Home to 500 species and more than 4,500 animals, it offers nature and animal enthusiasts a diverse experience with animals such as Sumatran tigers, Indian lions, rusty-spotted cats, rhinos, crocodiles as well as gorillas, orangutans, chimpanzees and bonobos. There is also a children's zoo and a large playground for young visitors. For adult visitors, it offers individual guided tours, events, and exhibitions.
