About Museumsufer

Museumsufer is an impressive boulevard of museums and art galleries lined up along the northern and southern banks of River Main. The group of museums is dedicated to varied art and culture ranging from applied arts and architecture to film, fine arts, Jewish history, antique sculptures, etc. An important cultural and artistic attraction in Frankfurt, this collection of museums houses masterpieces from ancient Greece and icons from the 15th to 20th century.

How to reach

By subway

Use lines U1, U2, U3 and U8 towards Südbahnhof. All these lines will take you to Scheizer Platz.

By bus

Take bus line 46, and get off at Untermainbrücke; this will take you near the Riverbank.

By tram

Take lines 15 and 16 and get off at Otto-Hahn-Platz.

Note: Whichever route you choose, you’ll have to take a short walk towards the Main River.

Tips

  • Hangout for a few hours and walk along the river bank to relax and soak in the sun.
  • If you're travelling in summer, then attend the Museumsufer Embankment Festival.
  • If you're there on a Saturday, do check out Schaumainkai, the district’s main street that is taken over by the Flea Market.
