About Suzhou Museum

The Suzhou Museum is a museum of ancient Chinese art and its collection includes porcelains, relics of the revolution, handicraft works, calligraphy, and paintings of Ming and Qing Dynasties. The museum has been highly regarded as the most diverse and well organized regional museums. There are four permanent exhibition halls. The Wu Treasures Hall which is located on the underground floor includes prehistoric pottery, jade, and bronze vessels. There is also the Wu Pagoda Relics Hall, and the Buddhist-themed exhibition halls with Buddhist relics excavated from historical buildings around Suzhou.

How to reach

Take tourist bus no. 1, 2 or 5 or bus no. 55, 178, 202, 262, 309, 518, 529, 811, 923 or 925, and get off at Suzhou Museum Station.

Tips

  • It is recommended to arrive at Suzhou Museum early in the morning, about before 10:00 a.m to avoid long queues
  • No pets in the museum
  • The temperature in Suzhou Museum is kept at 20℃ all year round, so dress suitably
  • Food and colored drinks are not allowed
  • No smoking in the museum
  • Do not use flash while taking photographs in order to protect the relics
  • Children must be accompanied at all times
  • Wheelchair accessibile
  • An audio tour is not available, but tour guides are available at the site
