The Palace of the Shirvan Shahs, who were the ruling dynasty in Azerbaijan, is on the UNESCO World Heritage list, and described as “one of the pearls of Azerbaijan’s architecture”. This fifteen-century palace complex was heavily fortified with a high wall, and it was self-dependent with a royal house, hammam, a minaret, a mosque, a mausoleum and living quarters, which is still one of the most iconic tourist destinations in the old town of Baku. The site of the palace with the flame tower in a frame sums up the co-existence of the modern and classic Baku cityscape. A limited part of the palace is open to the common people as a museum, with a good collection of artifacts from the Shirvan Shah era.
The place is 100 meters away from the city center. Walk for 2 minutes to reach this place,
