Fountains Square or the Parapet is a public square built during the Soviet rule in downtown Baku, which is famous for the dozens of fountains arranged in a nice order throughout the square. During the night hours, the lights in the fountains are turned on, which makes it a nice place to relax and enjoy the bustling city life. The area stretches from Nizami Street to the eastern walls of Icheri Scherer, and has a distinct Persian influence in the ambiance and decoration. It is often crowded in the evening hours and on weekend afternoons. Tourists flock to this place for the boutiques, restaurants, shops, and hotels, along with a number of local festivals that are held in this area.
The place is just 700 meters away from the city center. Take a walk by the Boyuk Qula to reach the place in 10 minutes.
