About Sukiennice Museum

This museum greets you with its history of luxury, wealth, grandeur, and trade. The museum has several exquisite art pieces that are a must-see for art lovers. Housed on the upper floor of the Sukiennice Cloth Hall in the center of the main market square at the old town in Krakow, it holds the largest permanent exhibit of 19-century Polish paintings and sculptures. While the majority of exhibits are gifts from artists and collectors, several donations have strengthened its collection. It was founded in 1879 and has undergone several expansions and renovations. It is an important landmark for art and by the late 1930s consisted of more than 300,000 exhibits. You can enjoy a theovely cafe on the roof terrace with fantastic views of the city and area.
