The National Museum is a testimony to the great potential of the Polish people who know how to appreciate life. This museum is well worth a visit just for the paintings but there is also a wonderful display of decorative arts (furniture and various objects) arranged chronologically from the 1960s back to Medieval and Roman times. You will be thrilled to see the medieval war exhibition. The national collection is scattered among several different locations but the pride of Krakow is Leonardo Da Vinci's Lady With an Ermine. This magnificent painting is housed in the main building of the National Museum. The main building also houses the Library of the National Museum in Krakow, which preserves and makes available a specialist book collection in the field of art history, conservation, and museology.
