The building of Museo del Cabildo was constructed in the year 1541. In 1864, during the regime of President Carlos Lopez, it was made the seat of Executive and Legislative functionary and this continued to be so till 1894. When the Executive moved to the Government Palace, the building became the seat of National Congress and remained so till  2003. They belong to the colonial times and also from the 20th Century. There is a Hall of Music which exhibits items reflecting the musical history of the country. The  Hall Cabildo exhibits the items and information on the role played by the building as the political seat of the country. There is a hall dedicated to the film industry. The Hall of Film showcases items related to the film industry and its development in Paraguay. There is a library dedicated to the Paraguayan writers. Tourists have found the exhibits pertaining to Immigration to Paraguay interesting.
