About Vermanes Garden

Situated in the heart of the city, the Vermanes Garden Park is Riga's second oldest public park. Created in the early 19th Century with the help of donations, the park is named after Anna Gertrud VÃÃ, a wealthy widow who allocated a piece of land and a generous donation to the park. There is a canal running through it. The tranquil green oasis of the park is very welcoming. It is clean and beautifully kept. Vērmane Garden covers roughly five hectares (12 acres). It is a pretty place to take a walk, see the ducks in the lake, and enjoy the flowers.
