Tad Sae Waterfall is special because of the falls which pour over the beautiful limestone forming in levels the leads into large pools below. Where you can swim in. Tad Sae Waterfall is about 15 km towards the southeast of Luang Prabang, You can hire a tuk-tuk to take you to the Nam Khan riverbank, where boats can ferry you across for about 10,000 kips. Around 200,000 kips may be payable for the tuk-tuk. Alternatively, minivan excursions can be arranged for about 50,000 kips per head.

Better to start early and visit this one in the Morning, Kuang Si in the afternoon and you'll still be on time for a sunset boat ride in the Mekong River in Luang Prabang. Get there earlier if you want a more relaxing experience and photos without people in!
During the height of the dry season, the falls are hardly a trickle, so you're better off going to Kuang Si then.
Parking at falls carpark before the boat is 5,000kip. Easy to find - just follow road 13 and it's on your left.
Be aware if you go alone, wait for other visitors to arrive at the price will halve.
