Close to downtown Amman's King Faisal Street, a monument was constructed with the idea to promote the local art and traditional art forms. Darat Al Funun is that art museum, home to Arab artists with the aim to support, upgrade, and nurture the contemporary Arab artists. The place also became a global platform for art exhibits and exchange of various artistic stature. With six building structures, near the Jabal al Weibdeh's Paris Circle, the gallery exhibits various exhibitions, curated talk shows, screening of acclaimed films, and many educational programs. The place also supports numerous experimental projects, hosts concerts, organizes performances, and it even offers a Ph.D. fellowship and artist residency programs for aspiring artists. The art hub has its own slot of books and catalogs being published regularly. With an archaeologically restored site in the garden, the place is a great experience to get drenched in the waves of art and creativity.
It's 7.4 km from Amman city center, so you can hire a taxi. Taxi fare will cost around 3.33 JD.
