Katsura Imperial Villa is an abode of spectacular architecture and harbors famous Japanese gardens. The villa is a haven to the mountains of Arashiyama and Kameyama. The key features include the Miyuki-Mon gates, garden paths adorned with river pebbles and rectangular cobbles. A group of gardens situated at the center known as Goten proceeding through the mosses and bushes edging the gardens, leading through the gates towards the inner garden. The striking highlight is the Furu-Shoin specially designed as an observation permit to watch the moon and three rooms of Naka-Shoin, which is adorned by the fine paintings made by Japan's leading artists. Visitors can relish on a meal or enjoy the refreshments of many tea houses.
