About Piazza Navona

Step into one of Rome's most beautiful and picturesque piazza squares. Constructed in the 15th Century, it boasts three of Rome's most iconic fountains, the most important of which is the La Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi or the Fountain of Four Rivers which pays tribute to the four great rivers of the world. The iconic Baroque style architecture can be seen everywhere, in the fountains as well as the church of Sant'Agnese nearby. The Obelisk of the Roman emperor Domitian stands tall in the square, clearly depicting a fusion of ancient Egyptian sculptural techniques incorporated into the Roman architecture.
