How to reach

There are numerous ways of reaching the Pantheon. Take Line A and stop at Barberini station. Getting there by hop-on-hop-off buses: Get off at the Trevi Fountain stop. It is walkable distance from a major landmark, the Trevi Fountain. The common bus numbers 40, 60 and 64 pass through the nearby Piazza Argentina.

Tips

  • Usually, there is no waiting line and if so, it moves fast, but the Pantheon can get really overcrowded at certain periods.
  • The average visit time is about 20 minutes but some stay there for an hour.
  • Try to visit the Pantheon when it’s slightly raining to see that the rain drops don’t reach the ground through the Oculus.
  • Mornings are usually more crowded, with tourist groups arriving mostly between 10:00 a.m and 2:00 p.m. To avoid crowds, visit the site after 4:00 p.m.
