Welcome to what has been commonly considered the very birthplace of ancient Rome, one of the most famed cities of the ancient Western World. It was here that Romulus killed his brother Remus to establish the city of Rome and became its very first King. One of Rome's famous "Seven Hills" near the River Tiber, the Palatine Hill was home to Rome's elite and boasted incredibly beautiful and artistic architecture. The Palatine Hill was the domain of Roman Emperors and is now one of Rome's most prized archaeological sites with numerous sites of incredible relevance to the Roman empire. Two Roman Emperors lived in the Domus Flavia and Domus Augustana as well as the Stadium, used for horse races.
