The best sight which catches your eyes as soon as one enters the park is a huge area which is full of greenery and beautiful landscapes. The landscaping in the park combines with the natural rock outcrops with thickets of trees, massive bamboos, with grassy expanse and flowerbeds. Regulated by the Horticulture Department of Karnataka, this park has a lotus pond, bamboo groove nook, Ringwood Circle which are its main attractions. Bangalore is also called ''Garden City " because of this wonderful park. It serves as an ideal place for morning and evening walks. The environment is clean and fresh and perfect for fresh air intake. There is also a Band Stand inside the park, octagonal in shape and was used earlier for performances by musicians and artists. It has a huge collection of rare species of botanical plants and trees. It is a perfect place for an educational tour for students and teachers. There are magnificent statues of famous personalities placed in the park in different places. It is a good outing place with family, as there is also a children park with a toy train and doll museum for kids. It is a must visit place for nature lovers.
It is 2.0 km from the city center. One can hire a taxi, take a bus, metro, own personal vehicle or go on foot.
One can take the Purple Line metro from Mahatma Gandhi metro station till Cubbon Park, the fare is around 10 Rs, and the frequency is 6 minutes.
Bus number 13 D, 141 E, 141 K, 144, 144-K, 362-C, G-11 can be taken from MG Road. The buses are available every 15 minutes. The ticket would cost around Rs. 5 for this distance.
