About Bab Zuweila

Bab Zuweila is an iconic structure that was built in the 11th century, there are massive gates flanked by 2 towers. It is one of the last remains of the Fatimid Cairo wall. The gate has two high minarets which can be climbed for a great view of the old city. It was also referred to as the Bawabbat al-Mitwali during the Ottoman period. The spirit of a healing saint is said to reside behind one towering wooden door.
