Parque La Carolina is located in the center of the business district of Quito. The Dirección Metropolitana de Planificación Territorial (DMPT) designed it. There is a giant cross in this place in remembrance of a great Catholic mass by Pope John Paul II during his visit to Ecuador in 1985. It is said to be the largest park with wide and open green spaces. Nature lovers will love this park. The park includes a number of sports activities that will attract almost every sports enthusiast. The park remains busy on weekends with lots of art performances. You not only play games and activities in the park but also visit the botanical garden and Vivarium with the house of reptiles and amphibians. You can also visit the huge exhibitions on Orchids. Generally, it is a park where you can go for your morning walks, jogs, bicycle, or play other games and it is a place to relax and enjoy with your family.
You can reach the location in just 10 minutes if you are going by a taxi while it takes 20 minutes to go by bus.
