Museo Nacional Quito is the National Museum in the Republic of Ecuador founded in 1969 by the Central Bank of Ecuador. The museum is located in the city of Quito and the building is constructed in such a way that demonstrates the Ecuadorian culture. It consists of MUNA-Q which is the largest museum institution in the country. It maintains the largest collection of ancestral goods, a variety of paintings done by different artists and periods, vessels and figures which point to different periods of Ecuadorian history. The museum consists of more than 1,000 ceramic pieces collection dates from 12,000 BC to AD 1534. It also consists of interesting pieces starting from pre-Columbian days to the present date. You can also enjoy the interactive digital displays which help you to explore the arts and artifacts in depth. Art lovers find their best spent time in this museum. The museum is guided with numbers which makes the visitors easy to visit and enjoy. You can find a one wall life-sized sculpture of a small painting done in the 19th Century by Guerrero Las Club Estrafalario and an animal playing instruments.
