The Agricultural Scientific Academy is a farm that integrates the best of both traditional and modern farming methods. This 330-acre academy sits at the foot of Shuanglong Mountain and is split into different zones. The Desert Arboretum Garden houses over 150 kinds of cacti and 100 varieties of tropical desert plants. It is a half-acre glass house with the sculptures of camels and other desert animals sitting amongst the well-planted beds. The Modern Agricultural Museum (also called Vegetable and Fruit Garden) allows visitors to try exotic fruits and vegetables while they walk around it. Vegetables like asparagus, cucumber, watermelon and cantaloupe are grown in the soil-less Cultivation Garden. The Birdie Fairyland houses two huge aviaries with nearly 2,000 species of birds. Visitors can feed the magnificent ostriches and view the beautiful peacocks. There are many other gardens in the academy specifically for the plants. It includes; The Rose, Lotus and Phalaenopsis Orchid Gardens.
