The national parliament house is a large structure of political importance designed by Louis Kahn. It hosts a number of attractions like its exquisite lawn and the shoreline of the neighboring lake that hosts residences for members of parliament. The building itself reflects the history and culture of Bangladesh in many ways. It carries multiple entrances in the style of old Islamic architecture, to facilitate natural ventilation.
The structure is divided into the Main Plaza, the South Plaza, and the Presidential Plaza, and is surrounded by an artificial lake on all sides. The Main Plaza has an MP room, the library, and party rooms. The South Plaza houses the controlling gates, a driveway, the office of maintenance engineers, and equipment stores. The Presidential Plaza consists of a gallery and an open pavement, which is accessible to visitors.
Take the outer circle road. It should take you 28 minutes and cost 40TK if you take the cycle-rickshaw and 92.5TK if you take the auto-rickshaw.
