Hồ Chí Minh City Hall was initially built as a hotel in the early twentieth century in French colonial style. It was renamed as Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Head Office after 1975, and at present, it is one of the most iconic landmarks of the city. The tourists frequently visit this place in District 1 and are accessible within a five-minute walk from other prominent colonial structures. The top of the building is crowned with the famous bell tower which is placed on a pyramid-like pedestal influenced by Renaissance architecture. The pastel exterior earned the building the name of "Gingerbread House." Directly across the road from the place are a Quaint little park and a statue of the iconic national hero Ho Chi Minh with a protective arm over a small child. If you want to take great photographs of this place, visit the around sunset and in the evening when it is illuminated with LED lights highlighting the decorations.
You can book a cab to reach the place, or rent a motorbike. For the budget option, you may take the bus no. 150 and then bus no. 52 to reach here.
