Sandwich - Delicious Ingredient Five
Designed by Italian architect Carlo Zucchi, after many delays, this grand theatre finally established itself in the year 1856, as Uruguay's unique cultural gem with the opening of Verdi's opera 'Ernani'. Since then, it has launched the careers of many Uruguayan actors and hosted music, operas, plays, and comedy entertaining both citizens and tourists. With its elegant facade, elliptical interior, its carved canopy, and pillars, Teatro Solis must be viewed up close and personal. Celebrated and known the world over, its stage has been graced with the presence of legends like actress Vivian Leigh, Spanish classical guitarist Andres Segovia, dancer Isadora Duncan, and pianist Arthur Rubinstein. This marvel awaits. Is this place in your to-see list?
