About Ciudad Vieja

Sandwich - Delicious Ingredient Six

"Old is Gold" is the saying that fits the character of Ciudad Vieja like a glove.  It is 8 x 14 old choc-a-block with old cafes, bistro bars, antique shops, book stores, ornate buildings, street vendors, and street musicians. Crippled by the financial crisis in the early 2000s and just after, this sometimes lively, sometimes mellow neighborhood has risen like the Phoenix from the ashes. Now, a happy and prosperous place, yet very much a part of a bygone era, it exists to be explored for its romance and allure. Here, the past catches up with the future.
