About Museo Torres Garcia

Sandwich - Delicious Ingredient Sixteen

Established in 1949, this museum has unusual portraits of historical figures and cubist paintings similar to Picasso's but drawn by an avant-gardist, Torres Garcia. He combined European, American and South American influences in his paintings in his relentless pursuit of "Constructive Universalism". His brush strokes were unique and like Goethe, he believed in integrating classicism with modernity. He was the man who worked with Gaudi on the stained glass windows for Palma Cathedral and the Sagrada Familia. Today, this building with its galleries, a library, and a theatre draws over 85,000 visitors from all over the world. Come, join in.
