About Patong Beach

Located on the West Coast of Phuket, Patong Beach is the most famous beach in Phuket. The beach has developed from a fishing village to a popular city with a large number of restaurants catering to any taste and cuisine as well as pubs, bars, tours, and travel agencies. There is also an air-conditioned lifestyle shopping complex named Jungceylon offering international goods and brands apart from the usual endless night market that starts at sunset all along the sidewalk on the beach road.

How to reach

One may go for the local bus connecting downtown Phuket and Patong. However, if there are a couple of people, then a taxi or tuk-tuk might be a wise idea.

Tips

  • Although Patong Beach is visited throughout the year, January usually tends to be the peak month for visitors.
  • The location has a combination of dry and wet seasons with the average temperatures, surging between 23 degrees C and 31 degrees C during the dry season.
  • During the dry season that starts from November and lasts up to mid-March, it is sunny and the seas are calm. The monsoons are from May to October and rainstorms are common during these months. However, they’re usually short-lived and there is still plenty of sunshine. One can plan the trip accordingly.
  • Flights and accommodation offer substantial discounts during the off-season, but for those who want to dive or snorkel, it is not the right time to be there as sea conditions are not good.
