About Taipei Zoo, Taipei

Taipei Zoo is the most famous zoological park in Taipei to explore the unknown and mysterious world of wildlife and unveil the existence of various endangered species. Founded in 1914 it is one of the 10 largest zoos in the world and the largest zoo in South East-Asia. The zoo with seven indoor exhibits showcases each and every aspect of wildlife in the park. From the butterfly section to the koala house, to meeting penguins and shaking hands with pandas, the list is limitless. The immense variety of birds, animals, and mammals with their distinctive habitude found here is baffling. There are around twelve thousand birds with one hundred and twenty species. The place also is a frontrunner in the field of research and education regarding animal variants and their habitats. Many students globally come here to assimilate and understand various aspects of animal behavior. The zoo does not exhibit animals but indulges in conservational activity to provide a sustainable habitat to animal species to save them from getting extinct. Under special programs, the endangered species are protected in this area.
