About National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall

A famous landmark, memorial and national monument erected in honor of a former President of the Republic of China, General Chiang Kai-Shek, it has been acknowledged as a celebrated tourist attraction in Taipei. Completed in 1980 and renamed after a big controversy, the monument flaunts its pristine white color. The round octagonal roof symbolizes number 8 which is related to abundance and good fortune in Asia. The ground level houses a library and a museum depicting various antidotes related to the life and activities of the general. A large statue of Chiang Kai-shek graces the area. Along with the historical aspect of the building, the monument is famous for many social gatherings and art exhibits. The monument is surrounded by various gardens, restaurants, and local cuisine outlets for tourists to get the feel of the Taiwanese culture and food.

How to reach

From MRT to CKS memorial hall station bus stop and from CKS to Jhihnan bus stop. If you hire a taxi, cab or uber then it will take 3 minutes and by Taipei metro, it will take 20 minutes. Even a walking distance will be covered in 29 minutes.

For the bus service, a one section journey comes around NT$15. By cab, first 1.25 km costs NT$70. The metro charges from NT$20-60 for a single trip
