About Longshan Temple

A notable landmark of the city, a religious site, a place of social gathering and worship, is the iconic temple of Longshan. The temple is built on the footprints of the Taiwanese culture and decorated meticulously with precious metals and ornaments.  In a city, flooded with temples, being the most loved and visited temple makes Longshan definitely a hot tourist attraction. Constructed in 1738, the temple is 300 years old and has seen numerous natural disasters, surviving most of them. Rebuilt after every catastrophe with the effort and finances collected by the locals, the temple surely gets loved and worshipped. The temple holds pride in the fact that it caters to people of more than one religion. A wonderful mix of the Taoist, Confucian, and Buddhists is collectively seen here bowing down their heads in faith. One of the most interesting facts of this temple is related to the matchmaking God Yue Lao. Praying to this deity is believed to bring luck and a life partner in the lives of singles. Unbelievable until one tries it.
