About Qingshan Temple

General Qingshan Wang or Zhang Gun served the Duke Sun Quan years back, he was worshipped as a god with the power to dispel disease and divine authority of justice, rewarding virtue and punishing evil. Qingshan Temple was built over a century ago to honor the general and keep his spirit alive. The temple, with its buildings made from wood and stone, has an enormous statue of Qingshan Wang whose eyes seems to follow you anywhere you stand. Well preserved for generations, the temple has some very attractive stone and wooden carvings, beautiful colorful ceramic work, including a beautiful octagonal plafond ceiling(made without nails). The temple is renowned for its miracles and locals believe that all wishes will be fulfilled if you pray here with utmost trust. The residing God's birthday festival is a very famous ritual followed here religiously around the end of November or early December, annually. A night parade takes place from 5 pm to 9 pm over two nights to celebrate the festivities of this auspicious day.

How to reach

 Taiwan high-speed rail will take 1 hour 55 minute. By bus or train, it will take 3 hours and 50 minutes. Take bus no. 285 to Fuyang Street entrance. By car, cab and uber it will take around 2 hours 14 minutes.

For the bus service, a one section journey comes around NT$15. By cab, first, 1.25 km costs NT$70. The metro charges for a single trip vary from NT$20-60.
