Mutrah Souq, one of the main attractions in Oman hosts several shops that sell traditional Omani items from clothing, food, antiques, and others. It is nice to go around and bargain with the shop keepers and have a stroll on the adjacent corniche afterward. This Souk was like no other in the country. It really was like stepping back in time with ancient treasures to behold. In particular at two shops, in the center of the Souk has items that could be exhibited in museums. If you see something particular, then grab it! Chances are you will not be able to find it again in the other Souks in Oman. When you have finished collecting your treasures and gifts, the restaurants on the seaside have lovely Arabian meals that are a good value for money while you gaze on the wonderful seaside view. Definitely worth more than one visit if you have the time.
By Cab, it is 29.2 km and takes 29 mins from the city center.
