Al Mirani Fort has a special place in history and the fort is located right behind the Al Alam Palace. One can afford to get a fantastic view from the fort. Entry is closed to the public one can take a walk along the base. It is situated at the head of a natural deep harbor. The walls of the fort stretch out over one whole section of the mountains backing up the port city of Muscat. It is beautifully maintained and it is cheap to visit and surrounded by an interesting town and souq. Highly recommended as a must-visit place.
From the city center, it is 42.4 km and it takes 39 minutes via cab.
