About Bimmah Sinkhole

Bimmah Sinkhole is a naturally formed beautiful green colored water hole. The water is not too deep but one will really enjoy the swimming in fresh, cool, clear waters. This is free for use, and here one will get plenty of opportunities to click photographs. The different types of pebbles and rock formations here are amazing. In the afternoon, this sinkhole is quite attractive as it reflects in the shimmering sunlight. This is one of the most beautiful natural wonders.  There are small fish in the water but you won’t notice it when swimming. It's approximately 20 meters deep so jumping in is no problem. A must-visit, this place is very close to the sea. In order to reach this point, one has to travel by road running parallel to the sea which makes for an enthralling drive by itself.

How to reach

By car, it is 144 km and it takes 1 hour 33 minutes.

Tips

  • It is a good place to visit as a stopover en route to Wadi Shab.
  • Weather in January is fine, not too hot.
  • There are basic bathrooms at the entry of the park where one can change into a swimsuit.
  • The Sinkhole is found in a park with toilet facilities and picnic benches
  • Wear comfortable shoes since you need to walk a lot.
  • Carry drinking water as it is not available.
  • If you do not want to swim, then half an hour should suffice.
  • You can reach the water level by going down 80 steps but they are relatively steep.
