The "Casa Natal" is well known as the birthplace of the world-famous artist Pablo Ruiz Picasso. This museum has some great and rare artifacts right from the beginning of Picasso's home and cultural life.
The Casa is divided into different sections where the first floor has the collection of works and the interests of the artist, of his father Jose Ruiz Blasco, and other personal mementos of the Picasso family. The third floor is entirely dedicated to the Library and Research Center, where you will find a wide range of exclusive work of archive material on the artist and his work, prints, ceramics, as well as graphic art from the period 1931 to 1971 and illustrated books. Here you will find some 3,500 examples of contemporary by over 200 artists including Miró, Christo, Bacon, Barossa, Ernst, Tápies, Chillida, Plensa, Dokoupil, Guinovart, Matta, Moore, and many contemporary Malaga artists as well. The main aim of this Foundation is to acquire more and more artworks each year under one roof. They also host some great events, exhibitions, conferences nationally and internationally to showcase the work of Picasso.
