About Castillo de Gibralfaro

Gibralfaro is situated between the hills which is a part of the Montes de Malaga mountain range, located to the east and north of Malaga city. There's an interesting historical monument here which has solid ramparts through the dense woods of pine and eucalyptus inside the fortress. They have been well restored and you can walk around them.

Once you reach the summit you can have a good view of the La Malagueta bullring. Its indeed a really fascinating fortress with some really interesting interpretation center, focusing on the post-Moslem era right up to the 20th Century. Here you will find a lot of artifacts, uniform reconstructions and model soldiers. Please do not forget to visit a small museum that covers the military history of this place. It's just perfect for evenings where you can sit and watch Malaga at night with a drink and some snacks.
