The Alcazaba was built during the XI Century for the safeguard and protection of the Catholic Kings as the area of the triple walls joins the Castle of Gibralfaro by a strong-walled path. The palace was home to the Sultan of Granada and the Nasrid ruler Yusuf including many other Moorish rulers over the centuries.
The palace itself is built in Moorish architecture style and everything here will take you back to that time. The fountains, gardens, and funnel water flowing is also very soothing here and relaxing to look at. When you start exploring the palace here everything around you will make you wonder at the architectural design, decorated ceilings, multifoil arches, wall tiles, etc.
