The Barceloneta is one of the liveliest urban beaches of the world that is mostly man-made. The promenade has many interesting restaurants, bars, and shops. It also has many pieces of art including one big structure called the "Gold Fish" by probably the greatest living architect, Frank Gehry. Along the way to Port Olimpic which is the casino area, you will encounter several beaches, volleyball courts and shower facilities, and sculptures.
This place has an interesting mix of architecture both old and modern. Set out to explore the opposite side of La Barceloneta which includes the marina district where you will see historical buildings, old Roman arches where the history museum is located, stunning private yachts owned by millionaires, and music festivals that entertain everyone. Visit the Maremagnum shopping center, a beautiful bridge heading towards it with giant ferries going to other countries, with the famous sculptures floating on old buoys. There is so much to see and enjoy here. Go explore these tiny streets with the locals and get acquainted with the history of the area.
