The Magic Fountain of Montjuïc, or the Font Magica, is a fountain located at the head of Avinguda Maria Cristina in the Montjuïc neighbourhood of Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. Carles Buigas's design was considered too ambitious to be attempted. In less than a year and with a force of 3,000 workers, the Magic Fountain of Montjuic was completed and had its first performance on May 19, 1929.
The fountain that sprays water to the rhythms of the music accompanied by acrobatics and laser shows makes it a breathtaking experience. The annual festival La Merce holds the "Piromusical" event at Montjuic, that displays fireworks and light of the grandest fashion.
