Palace Bridge is certainly one of the most famous landmarks of St. Petersburg, it is hard to miss because of its continuous use to move between Palace Square, Winter Palace, Hermitage Museum and the numerous historic attractions in the city. The bridge spans across the Neva River in St Petersburg between Palace Square and Vasilevskiy Island. Like most of the bridges on Neva, it is drawn by night, making foot travel between various parts of the city virtually impossible. It was built between 1912 and 1916 and has a length of 260.1 metres and width of 27.8 metres. The rising of the beautiful Palace Bridge with surrounding monuments as a backdrop is one sight to behold. Although, the bridge was built not many years ago, it is a star attraction of the city.
Visit the bridge during twilight to see it in full glory. If you have the opportunity, then it's worth taking a midnight boat trip to watch the bridge rise from the water.
Distance from city center is 4.7 kms. Take a taxi or bus routes K-169, K-252, K-30.
