The Lahore Zoo happens to be the oldest zoo in the world and was established in the year 1872. What began as a humble aviary, it has now progressed to become one of the most sought after destinations in Lahore. It was thanks to the help of Lal Mahundra Ram who donated to the zoo and helped it make its beginning. Under his help, the zoo flourished and slowly started housing more and more animals. In this day and age, the zoo houses about 996 birds of 82 species, 49 reptiles of 08 and 336 mammals of 45 species.
It can be reached via Main Boulevard Gulberg and Jail Road using a cab or a car. This is the fastest route to the destination.
