An incredibly brilliant identity of the Bahria Town Lahore, the Grand Jamia Masjid makes for an amazing symbol of the city and the country as well. A masterpiece in its own right, the mosque’s interior is truly breathtaking, with awe-inspiring views that represent the amalgamation of traditional Islamic architecture with the Pakistani culture. The carpet that the mosque houses have been custom-made and imported straight from Turkey. Other than that the mosque also has within it close to 50 beautiful Persian chandeliers that help in lending a vibrant Islamic ambiance to the mosque. The structure of the mosque comprises 4 minarets, the height of each is 165 feet. Other than this the mosque also has a Grand Dome in the center, which is surrounded by 20 smaller domes. What makes the mosque extremely special is the fact that the mosque with its exterior, has about 4 million, 2.5 inches handmade Multani tiles made from a special kind of Multani mitti and hand placed by the craftsmen. The placing of these tiles itself took close to 4 years to complete. It also happens to be the worlds 7th largest mosque and Pakistan's largest.
