Founded in 1978, the Jallo Park happens to be one of Lahore’s most visited wildlife and public sites for sure. Spread across an area of 461 acres the park is considered to be one of the city’s three main wildlife parks other than the prime attractions of Lahore Changa Manga and Lahore Zoo Safari. A number of birds, such as species of pheasants and parrots, were also added to the park. In 2008, the Government of Punjab took steps for the development and beautification of the park. A sports complex was added which included courts for lawn tennis and volleyball, grounds for cricket and soccer, and a 50-km (31 m) track for bicycling. The park also has a public swimming pool.
