The park covers an area of over 67 acres (270,000 m2) and this is what makes it one of the largest in the city of Lahore. Situated in the suburbs of the Allama Iqbal Town locality, the park is a must visit for the tourists that pay a visit to this beautiful city. When translated, the name Gulshan-e-Iqbal literally means "the garden of Iqbal." The Iqbal who has been referred to here happens to be the national poet of Pakistan. Consisting of a number of recreational rides for children and activities for adults, the park also happens to be extremely popular among families alike. If that was not enough, the park also has a huge artificial lake and a mini-zoo to boast of as well. The maintenance of the park is well taken care of and in recent times, many new playing areas and rides have been added to help bring in more crowd and make it even more popular among tourists.
