See the smoldering depths of a volcano through Time Travel ride to take a journey back 12 million years in the Time Tunnel as the automated ride takes you through the native New Zealand forest, which is a short voyage onboard a ship and through the lanes of early settlements of Christchurch. The journey to 500 meters above sea level takes about 10 minutes in a fully enclosed cable car. At the top visitors can stretch their legs with a walk on one of the many Port Hills tracks or simply sit and take in the view stretches. The Gondola also has conference facilities and provides a stunning backdrop for a wedding and the Gondola ride to the summit definitely adds something different to a function. At the top, the conference rooms are separate to the main facilities ensuring privacy. At the top of the Gondola is a very elaborate visitor center with a restaurant, gift shop, historical amusement ride, large floor to ceiling windows and outdoor decks to enjoy the view. There are also a number of hiking trails accessible from this location.
