About Scuola Grande di San Rocco

If you are a lover of art, you should not miss the Scuola Grande di San Rocco. Built by the Confraternity of St Roch (church voluntary association) in the 16th century and named after San Rocco, the building houses some of the exquisite works of Tintoretto.
In 1564, Tintoretto was asked by the confraternity to provide paintings for the building. And the master painter didn't let them down.
Tintoretto, aided by his son and assistants, showcased his brilliance by painting a series of breathtaking Biblical scenes (Old and New Testament) that now adorn the walls and ceilings of this building.
