Palazzo Ducale (Doge's Palace) was once Venice's seat of power. There can be no better way to demonstrate power and prestige than this opulent building. With its striking ornamental facade, this Venetian Gothic building, now a museum, took its present form in the mid-14th century. It is a place of overwhelming beauty and decorated lavishly.
Some of the highlights include the Scala d'Oro (the intricately decorated stairs leading to the Doge’s chambers), Sala del Collegio (the place where the Doge received ambassadors), the Grand Chamber Council, where hangs Domenico Tintoretto's 'Paradise' and the Bridge of Sighs which leads to the prison cells.
Porta Della Carta (Entrace to the palace), Scala dei Giganti (stairs leading to doge's rooms), Sala del Collegio (room where doge met ambassadors) and Tintoretto's masterpiece "Paradise."
